Razer Seiren Vs Blue Yeti: A Quality Comparison

Hey Guys!! In this article, we are going to discuss two microphones Razer Seiren vs Blue Yeti, and also the comparison of both microphones.

Razer Seiren X:

comparison of Razer Seiren with blue yeti

There are many Razer Seiren microphones available in the market but we are comparing here Razer Seiren X with the Blue yeti microphone so let’s start.

Razer Seiren X is USB designed microphone, this is a great microphone because it is a super-cardioid polar pattern microphone.

Let me clear you more about the super-cardioid polar pattern.

Razer Seiren X Super-Cardioid Pattern:

Super-cardioid is a variant of the cardioid polar pattern so super-cardioid has a minor difference against the cardioid polar pattern.

I can tell you about the super-cardioid polar pattern. You may review the cardioid polar pattern in the previous article.

Now we are talking about the Super-Cardioid Pattern.

A super-cardioid has a tighter pickup angle than a cardioid and offers you more side rejection than a cardioid so it is better for the one who performs on stage or singing in concerts, home studios, etc.

So I tell you about the super-cardioid polar pattern I think you get my point and you will be more surprised to listen that Razer Seiren X is a gaming microphone.

It has a stand and easily fits on your desktop or table. It captures sound in nice quality and helps you to monitor easily another feature is a USB gaming microphone.

Play Stations:

Many gamers play games in Play Stations so this microphone is supported with PS 4 and PS 5 etc. This is a plus point for gamers completely compatible with PS

Additional Features:

Here are some features and at the end of the article, we are going to compare the technical specifications between Razer and Blue Yeti. So let’s see some features.

Razer Seiren has a Built-in shock mount which helps you to record smoothly and your recording can be uninterrupted. Another feature is that this microphone has Zero-Latency Monitoring and it allows you real-time monitoring.

Another feature is that Razer Seiren has a led indicator which means green light shows that the microphone is running and a red light indicates that your microphone is muted.

Now I’m mentioning colours that are available in the market and I’m making it easy by providing the list below it will be easy for you to read and look at quickly.

This is not for only gaming because it has many polar patterns means setting any polar pattern according to your desire and use.

Additional Features:

First names of patterns that Blue Yeti have or support.

  1. Cardioid Polar Pattern
  2. Omnidirectional polar pattern
  3. Bidirectional Polar Pattern
  4. Stereo Mode

This multiple polar pattern feature is amazing you don’t need any separate microphone for single polar patterns because it has four polar patterns just set to your desired pattern and it picks up sound in that direction.

Blue VO!CE Software:

This software helps you to entertain your audience with enhanced effects, advanced modulation, and HD audio samples.

I share another useful piece of information Advanced Blue Vo!ce is compatible with Yeti, Yeti Nano, and Yeti X.

Hey Guys!! Here were going to discuss omnidirectional VS  cardioid. If you want to know about omnidirectional and cardioid in detail, then this blog post is for you.

First of all let’s talk about, where omnidirectional and cardioid are used and what they are. There are multi-usage of omnidirectional like Omni-directional antenna used etc.

A dish antenna is also designed in an omnidirectional way or pattern, as It is designed in a such way as to pick up and receive the full signals.

I think you understood the basic knowledge or feature of an omnidirectional pattern. In simple words, it can pick up sounds and signals from all areas.

Here I’m talking about omnidirectional vs cardioid Microphone polar patterns. Let’s start with Omni directional polar pattern.

Omnidirectional Pattern

Omni directional polar pattern Diagram: omni directional vs Cardioid

An omnidirectional polar pattern that means a type of polar pattern that picks up sound or your vocal in all directions. Let me clarify for you with an example so it will be easier to understand.

Example: Suppose you have a microphone and you want to record the voices of multiple people sitting in different directions means you want to cover the sound of everyone. You need an omnidirectional microphone.

it’s necessary to confirm before you record whether your microphone is omnidirectional or not.

Some Useful Knowledge About Omnidirectional Polar Pattern:

Angle:

Angles make every polar pattern different from others, in Omnidirectional has no certain angle or degrees. It’s free to record and capture sound from every direction or area surrounding your mic. It means we can say it can record in 360 degrees.

Angle Of Minimum Sensitivity:

Did you know what is the angle of minimum sensitivity and what the role of the angle of minimum sensitivity in the microphone or picking up of sound?

The angle of sensitivity means at which minimum angle you can capture the sound. In an omnidirectional pattern, there is no minimum angle it can capture sound from all angles at a balanced level.

Balanced level:

In an omnidirectional pattern, your voice or sound simultaneously captures from the right, left, front, and back without being lower or higher. It maintains your audio or voice from all directions and angles.

Omnidirectional polar pattern accepts or picks up sound from every angle and the angle of minimum sensitivity is none. In an omnidirectional polar pattern, the Distance Factor(DF) is 1.0.

Is omnidirectional pattern focused or aimed at one source?

So guys!! There is another important Point, I can describe in a way that will be easy for you to understand.

Suppose,

Omni= All, 360 degrees, complete circle

Directional= Angles, Areas, Sides(Right, Left, Front, Back)

Pattern= Way, Path, Picks-up

Let’s summarize all words and make a concept or definition. Omnidirectional is a kind of pattern which pick up or capture sound from all direction.

If you understood the basic concept which I told you above, so you got your answer that omnidirectional can’t focus or be aimed at one source or it does not focus single direction.

This pattern can capture surrounding sounds or background sounds clearly and may be more echo in the recording with an omnidirectional polar pattern.

Best For:

No doubt it is the best polar pattern for multiple people who want to record their sound from different directions.

Cardioid Pattern

So now it’s time to talk about Cardioid Polar Pattern. I doing my best to clear you about the cardioid polar pattern in detail.

Cardioid:

Cardioid polar pattern Diagram: Cardioid vs omni directional

So guys further move on to the cardioid polar pattern, I want to tell you a short history of cardioid so you can feel good, and this knowledge will make it easier for you to understand.

Sometimes, it is great to understand history, like from which word cardioid is taken and which language.

Basically, Cardioid is a word taken from the Greek language which means heart. Another word for cardioid looks like a heart-shaped curve.

Now let’s talk about the cardioid polar pattern in microphones. Cardioid is another type of polar pattern that is different from other polar patterns, especially from the omnidirectional pattern.

A cardioid pattern support or pick up a sound at certain angles like from the front it will give you maximum sound and from the left or right side it picks up sound at the lowest level.

So again summarized word-to-word like the above method will be easy for you to understand quickly.

Suppose,

Cardioid= Front Side(Full level of Sound), No Back or Rear Side Sound, less sound from Left or Right Side

Directional= Angles, Areas, Sides(Right, Left, Front, Back)

Pattern= Way, Path, Picks-up

Let’s conclude words and make a definition:

A cardioid polar pattern can pick up maximum sound from the front and from the right-left but not at a huge level. From the back or rear direction it will not pick up any kind of sound, this is a difference b/w omnidirectional and cardioid polar patterns.

Some Useful Knowledge About Cardioid Polar Pattern:

Angle:

In cardioid, there is an important role of angle in picking up sound. In the cardioid polar pattern, the maximum angle is 120 degrees.

Angle Of Minimum Sensitivity:

Yes, there is a certain angle of minimum sensitivity that is 180 degrees. It means the cardioid polar pattern does not capture sound perfectly at 180 degrees while the minimum distance factor(D.F) is 1.7.

Best For:

If you want to avoid feedback during concerts etc it is the best polar pattern for you.

Cardioid is also less noisy but depends on which polar pattern suits you for recording etc.

Omnidirectional VS Cardioid: Conclusion

Now Finalize the whole discussion, Omnidirectional VS cardioid which one is better so both polar patterns are better according to different conditions and usage.

Omnidirectional polar is best for picking up the sound of multiple persons means Omni covers and pick-up sound from all areas so it is a better option for group or muli person use..

Omni is best for a group but cardioid is there totally opposite to the omnidirectional, cardioid picks up sounds from the front or in a certain direction or angle. The Cardioid has better sound rejection than the omnidirectional polar pattern.

It is best for vocals. Singing, recording voice-overs, and other recording purposes. To avoid feedback from people at concerts it is an ideal option for you. In simple words, cardioid is great for reducing background or disturbing sounds.

Thank you For for reviewing this omnidirectional vs cardioid blog of micstuff, Here are a few more articles you may interested in.

Windscreen VS Pop Filter: A Perfect Guide For You

Hello guys !! I’m here today to share the difference between a Windscreen and a Pop filter or a comparison of a windscreen VS pop filter, so without wasting time let’s start the discussion.

Let’s talk about their basic functionality.

What does a windscreen and pop filter do? Is both really helpful in recording?

These windscreens or pop filters are basically designed to prevent popping sounds or to block the air which enters in microphone while recording.

So you know the basic functionality actually, they work a little bit differently from each other which I can explain to you below after clearing basic concepts.

Another question is raised what are popping sounds?

Popping Sounds are those sounds that experience harsh sounds like mostly P and B pop sounds that come in your recording. If you not getting this point don’t worry I’m trying more easily to understand you in this paragraph.

You may notice one thing if you are speaking or singing whatever you doing or talking with your mouth. You feel air coming from your mouth when you speak.

Popping sounds produce when you talk or sing and some spoken words create more air or breath and send popping sounds into the microphone. So I hope you understand popping sounds.

Now talk about Windscreen VS Pop Filter

What is Windscreen?

A windscreen is a kind of protector which gives protection against wind sound which disturbs the recording quality that is an intro of the windscreen.

Did you know other names for Windscreen?

Here are some names which I’m giving in a bullet list:

  • Windshield
  • Windscreen
  • Wind Muff

So these are some names now I can share with you regarding windscreen types which are available in the market.

Types of Windscreen:

Basically, there are two main types of windscreens first one is a Foam Windscreen and the second one is a furry windscreen.

Let’s describe 1st type of Windscreen.

  1. Foam Windscreen:

A foam windscreen is the most popular windscreen and its effectiveness is impressive. Many brands and peoples like to adopt Foam Windscreens.

Foam Windscreen is a very light weighted windscreen and is made up of foam material. It blocks air passage into the microphone it really works and easily fits on the microphone but it is not for extraordinary conditions like snowy conditions.

foam windscreen used for noise cancellation

Foam Windscreen is best for:

A foam windscreen protects the microphone from the least amount of wind it is a good option for indoor and studio environments.

Now talk about the 2nd type of microphone which is pretty and most powerful in heavy air conditions like snow etc.

  1. Wind Muff Windscreen:

Here is another type of windshield but before moving on to explanation let me tell you other names of wind muff windscreen.

Because other websites explain with one name and visitors are confused to see different so I feel that I can give you information. I can help you a lot to understand and you never will be confused. I’m mentioning all names in one platform.

Other Names Of Wind Muff:

  • Furry Windscreen
  • Dead Cat Windscreen

So these words are used on different platforms and there is no kind of difference between all are the same but some writers use different and I feel that they are confusing so that’s why I mentioned other names of Wind Muff Screen.

Wind Muff is made up of the fur of animals. I’m telling you why wind muff is also called dead cat. Dead-Cat is a kind of windscreen which is made up of the fur of cats so that’s why dead-cat windscreen comes in existing.

Again I can clear that Furry, Dead-Cat and Wind Muff all words are synonyms of each other so never confused

Wind Muff  Windscreen is best for:

As you know that Wind Muff is a hairy or furry windscreen so this is an effective solution to prevent air from crossing into the microphone.

wind muff windscreen a type of windscreen used for noise cancellation.

Wind Screen is the best and a great option in hard conditions like somewhere is air or wind is speedy. For Outdoor usage, it is an ideal option for you.

Alternative Ways to Stop Popping Sounds:

At the start, I am mentioning that it is not recommended for professional use means these, tips and tricks are just for your satisfaction. It will not fully help you to stop popping sounds.

These tips and tricks are just alternative solutions and they can help you 20 to 40 from 100%.

Few Tips You May Apply:

  • Place your two fingers between your mouth and the microphone.
  • Use Kitchen Strainer.
  • Covering your microphone with minor layered socks.
  • Covering your microphone with a minor layered piece of clothing.
  • Covering your microphone with a thin foam layer.

Pop Filter: Let’s talk about it

A pop filter is also known as a pop screen or a pop Filter, it is a small product used in recording studios or recording rooms to reduce the impact of plosive sounds on microphone recordings.

Plosive sounds, such as “p” and “b” in speech or wind noises in singing, create bursts of air pressure that can cause a sharp, noticeable “pop” in the recording.

pop filter

A pop filter dulls the burst of air pressure before it reaches the microphone. A circular frame with a flexible mesh or screen attached to it is typical. The frame is supported by a flexible arm that allows it to be positioned between the sound source and the microphone. When a plosive sound is made, the mesh or screen diffuses the air pressure, preventing it from reaching the microphone diaphragm with the same intensity. As a result, the recording is smoother and more even, with less “pop” noise.

Pop filters are produced from a variety of materials, including foam, fabric, and metal mesh, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to accommodate various microphone types and recording configurations.

They are a frequent recording studio accessory that vocalists, voice actors, and other performers use to increase the quality of their recordings.

Final Conclusion:

As you know that we are discussing Windscreen VS Pop Filter. Here we make the final conclusion, both are used to avoid popping sounds and air disturbance. Both are well and good but there is a slight difference in prices.

In windscreen, we know that there are multiple kinds like furry windscreens and foam windscreens if we compare both furry is a little bit more expensive than foam windscreens. Same as there is a price difference between steel pop filters and plastic-made pop filters.

Windscreens are ideal for blockage of extra air caused indoors and outdoors while pop filters are best for indoor usage like studios, homes and etc.

There are Top brands sell quality windscreens and pop filters like Shure, Rode, Zoom, Audio Technica,

You may CLICK on the below Images/links, there are a few microphones that come with pop Filters and Windscreens no need to buy a separate windscreen or pop filter:

Can A Wireless Mic Work With Any Receiver?

Hey guys, Today Mic Stuff team is going to guide you about the wireless mic and how can a wireless mic work with any receiver in detail, let’s start with the wireless mic system and how it works.

What is a wireless mic system and how does it work?

starting with a wireless mic system, a microphone that uses radio waves to transmit audio signals. The signal is sent from the microphone to a receiver, which then converts it into an electrical signal that can be amplified and heard through speakers.

Wireless mic systems are used in various applications, including live music performances, conferences, and public speaking indoor and outdoor events. it offers a number of advantages over traditional wired microphones, including freedom of movement and flexibility in placement.

Wireless mic systems typically consist of four components:

  • Microphone
  • Transmitter
  • Receiver
  • An Antenna.
types of wireless microphones

Microphone

The wireless microphone converts sound waves into electrical signals, which are then sent to the transmitter.

Nowadays there are multiple types of wireless microphones, handheld microphones, Lavalier microphones, clip-on microphones and headset wireless microphones.

I have attached the image of each type on the left side just to give you an idea about handheld, clip-on and Lavalier wireless microphones.

transmitter of wireless lavalier microphone

Transmitter

The second main and important component is the transmitter.

So the Transmitter encodes the signal of microphone and sends it to the receiver via radio waves.

Normally in handheld and clip-on wireless microphones, the transmitter is built-in.

And in the lavalier wireless microphone, the transmitter is a separate device (Body-pack) which you can clip on your dress belt, where there is hands free option.

Wireless Microphone receivers

Microphone Receiver

Another Component is the Microphone Receiver which you will receive with the wireless microphones, especially along with the Handheld wireless microphones

It decodes the signal and sends it to an amplifier, which increases the volume so that it can be heard through speakers.

Receivers comes in multi channels or single channel versions, it vary upon the models and Brand receiver you are going to buy.

Antennas of receiver and Transmitter

Antennas

And the fourth component is Antennas, these are used to extend the range of the wireless signal and improve its clarity.

Mic systems typically have two antennas: a transmitting antenna, which is attached to the transmitter, and a receiving antenna, which is attached to the receiver.

Can A Wireless Mic Work With Any Receiver? -Let’s talk about this in detail

First of all, be clear about the wireless microphone, you will need a wireless microphone, a transmitter and a receiver to run a wireless microphone. these are the 3 main components already discussed above, each in detail.

You can not use a wireless microphone without a receiver. the receiver is the main factor or component to run a wireless microphone as the wireless mic gets frequencies from the receiver.

A Wireless Mic Work With Any Receiver?

The Answer is No because mostly the receivers are of different brands and models with different frequencies, so the microphone compatible with Reciever (A) Frequencies will not work with the Receiver (B) with different models and especially Frequencies.

Any Chance a wireless mic can work with another receiver?

Yes, only the one chance you can connect and use your microphone with another receiver is the same model with the same frequency range and Brandwidth specifications or matching model range of the same brands.

Like if you have a shure wireless handheld microphone and you want to connect it with an AKG wireless handheld microphone, then there are 99% chances you will fail to connect your microphone with the receiver,

due to its different frequencies and model. but you can use your wireless microphone with a similar frequency and model receiver.

Can I Run My Wireless Microphone without Receiver?

No, you wireless microphone will not work without the receiver, receiver is the main component as mentioned above.

Can you Connect a Wireless Microphone receiver to Amp?

This may be a related question in your mind, so the Anser is yes, you will need a connector for this to connect your wireless receiver to AMP.

You will need a receiver with a microphone in running condition and then connect the Am with help of an Audio cable 6.35mm to 6.35mm 1/4 male cable for the amp. you can pair your receiver to your mobile through Bluetooth and enjoy.

It also comes with a built-in pop filter. It also has a gain control and a mute button. The Blue Yeti is compatible with both Microsoft Windows and Mac computers.

So, some people also want to use it with other iPhones directly, it is not professionally recommended to use a blue yeti microphone with an iPhone. but you can use it with your iPhone for that you will need connectors or adapters to connect your iPhone with a blue yeti microphone.

Here are the few steps along with the advantages and drawbacks to connecting a blue yeti mic with an iPhone mobile set.

How to connect Blue Yeti to iPhone?

Method #1

lightning to USB Camera Adabter to connect iPhone with blue yeli
  • Step one is to connect your Blue Yeti to your iPhone using the included USB cable.
  • To do this, you’ll need a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.
  • Once you have the adapter, simply plug the Yeti into the adapter and then plug the adapter into your iPhone.
  • You’ll then be able to use the Yeti as a microphone for recording videos or audio.

Method #2

lightning to USB 3 Camera Adabter to connect iPhone with blue yeli
  • Here you will need a lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter
  • Connect your iPhone with a lightning to USB 3 camera adapter.
  • there are two ports on the lightning to USB 3 camera adapter, one is a USB port and another one is a lightning port to power
  • your can power it with a charger or a battery bank.
  • Connect the blue yeti microphone cable to the USB port of the adapter and connect your charger or lightning cable with a lightning port on the adapter to power the adapter

And now you will be able to use your blue yeti microphone with your iPhone, you need an adapter to connect and there is no way to directly connect your microphone to your iPhone. for connection, you will need a separate simple lightning camera adapter or lightning to USB 3 camera adapter.

What are some tips for using Blue Yeti?

Here are some tips for getting the most out of your Blue Yeti:

Using Different Polar patterns

I would suggest experimenting with the different pickup patterns to find which one works best for your needs. this will help you get the right polar pattern for your need.

Use a Pop Filter

A pop filter is a must-have accessory for any Yeti owner. This simple piece of equipment attaches to the front of the microphone and helps to reduce unwanted plosives

Here is the Video Guide to connecting Blue Yeti Microphone to the iPhone by Austin Medz , you can follow the same method for the blue yeti USB and other USB microphones.

The benefits of using Blue Yeti with an iPhone

Using a Blue Yeti with your iPhone can be beneficial if you want to improve the audio quality of your recordings on the iPhone. The Yeti is a high-quality microphone that will provide clear and concise audio.

Easy to take anywhere, you can use it while outdoor recording, normally, a blue yeti microphone is used for indoor purposes on laptops, Macs, and PC.

Additionally, the different pickup patterns can be useful for capturing audio in various situations. For example, the omnidirectional pattern can be helpful for recording a group of people. Ultimately, using a Blue Yeti can help to create better recordings whether you’re making videos or audio files.

The drawbacks of using Blue Yeti with an iPhone

if you are going to use simple lightning to USB camera adaptor which does not require an external power source then your mobile or iPhone battery will be low very fast as the microphone will get the power from the iPhone.

So it means this will work well with the iPhone models which have the best battery life, otherwise, you will not be able to use it in a proper way.

While buying the adaptors see the guide, which models are compatible with adaptors otherwise you will waste the money. it works well with iPhone 12, and the latest models. better to confirm before buying the adaptor.

lightning to USB 3 camera adaptor mentioned above in method #2, requires an external power source to run. you will need a charger with a lightning cable to power the microphone through an adaptor or a battery bank.

How to use the different recording modes on Blue Yeti?

Blue Yeti has four different recording modes: cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo. Cardioid mode is best for recordings where you want to focus on a single person or source of audio.

Omnidirectional mode is best for recording a group of people or multiple sources of audio. Bidirectional mode is best for recording two people who are facing each other.

Stereo mode is best for creating a more immersive soundscape. To change the recording mode, simply press the mode button on the front of the Yeti.

Tips for improving sound quality when recording with Blue Yeti

If you want to improve the sound quality of your recordings, there are a few things you can do:

1– Use an external pop filter to reduce plosives (“P” and “B” sounds that can cause popping noises).

2– Experiment with the different pickup patterns to find which one works best for your needs.

3– Make sure the Yeti is positioned correctly in relation to your mouth. The closer it is, the better the sound quality will be.

4- Use a shock mount to reduce vibrations and noise.

5- If you’re recording in a noisy environment, try using headphones so you can hear what’s being recorded more clearly. (Using headphones will consume more battery power)

6- Make sure the volume levels are set correctly. If the input level is too low, the recordings will be quiet and difficult to hear. If the input level is too high, the recordings will be distorted.

7- While using blue Yeti with an iPhone check the battery of your microphone., especially if you are using a USB to light Camera Adaptor.

8– If you facing any trouble, try to connect with a PC or laptop before connecting it with your iPhone.

How to clean Blue Yeti?

For Long-term quality results, it’s better to clean your microphone on the regular basis, Here are the few tips I want to share with you.

To clean your Blue Yeti, you’ll need a soft, dry cloth. Gently wipe down the Yeti’s body, being careful not to damage the microphone capsule.

If there are any stubborn marks, you can use a mild cleaning solution (like soap and water) on a cloth and then wipe down the Yeti again with a dry cloth afterwards.

Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the Yeti.

I hope this article has been helpful in understanding how to use the Blue Yeti microphone. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask in the comments section below.

best microphone for webinars

There are a variety of microphones available on the market that are designed specifically for webinars, and in this article, we’ll go over some of the best microphone for webinars to help you choose the right one for your needs.

Our Team Mic Stuff, Decided to review the Best webinar mics we have used during our webinars and online sessions.

why should you go for a separate microphone for the webinar?

People also use the laptop builtin microphone and headphone microphones for the webinars, so there is much difference in the sound quality of the built-in microphone and a separate mic. the major drawback of the built-in microphone, it captures the extra noise in the room, fan, aquarium, or anyone talking behind you.

And for the headphones, I would say, webinars are not just 2 minutes, they are almost 30-60 minutes. so wearing headphones for a long will affect you. it’s better to use a separate USB microphone for the webinars

Before we proceed, we want you to remember one important factor, that normally not all microphones are plug-and-play compatible. but in this list, you will see with plug and play option with USB Connectivity.

Now that you know what to look for in a webinar microphone for more Information Read the buyer’s Guide for webinar mics at the bottom, and let’s take a look at some of the best options on the market.

1. Blue Yeti USB Microphone

Starting from the First best microphone for webinars, Here comes one of the most popular USB Microphones in the market, and for a good reason. It’s very simple and easy to set up and use, its sound quality is really amazing, and it’s relatively affordable.

One thing to note about the Yeti is that it is a bit larger than some other USB microphones, so if you’re looking for something more compact, it may not be the right choice for you.

However, its size also means that it can capture a lot of sounds, making it ideal for podcasts and other recordings where you need to capture multiple people or noises, so it is ideal for multi-person webinars.

Key Features and Specifications

Design

Most of the microphones are manufactured in China, Blue yeti is one of them designed in the USA and manufactured in China, it is one of my favourite USB microphones which I like most due to its versatility and nice design.

In the above image, you are also able to see the design it has an excellent build quality and an all-metal body. on the front, it has a mute button and a volume controller or knob. the mic itself comes with a nice desktop stand, which I like most because it saves your money to buy an extra boom pole or a stand.

At the top of the mic has a nice mesh grill and On the back, you will get the pickup pattern knob to select any pickup pattern you want to use. and a microphone gain. at the bottom, you will get the USB connection port.

Colours

Normally it comes in multi-colours, Black or matte finish, Silver, white and blue colours, I have a silver one, I choose silver because my desk colour is dark you can use the one you like most.

Power

It is a USB Microphone and just plugs and plays, what a nice feature no need for any external interface etc. it also comes with a USB and XLR version but I as a webinar mic I don’t suggest any xlr mic, USB is the ideal for you.

Pickup Pattern

Blue Yeti USB microphone has 4 polar patterns or pickup patterns Cardioid, Omni, Stereo, and Figure-8 which makes it an all-around mic.

Cardioid and omi polar patterns make it the best microphone for webinars, the cardioid pattern is perfect for single-person webinar use, and Omni for multi-person webinars.

Drawbacks

Blue yeti is one of the famous and most successful USB microphones, so there is no major drawback. just a bit heavy in weight which could be a con or drawback for anyone. One more drawback which I think is choosing the right pickup pattern during webinars.

One of the Great features, On the upper part with a Tap to Mute button on the top, On the front, it has a small red indicator light it blinks when the mic is mute, and stable red light when it’s unmuted, I personally see it as a great feature in a webinar mic.

Polar Pattern and Frequency Range

Hyper X solo cast is a single polar pattern mic, cardioid polar pattern mic, and a frequency response rate is 20hz-20khz.

Drawbacks

Not a multi-pattern mic, like Omni or bidirectional polar pattern, so you can not use it for multi-person webinars it has only cardioid so recommended for the one-person use only. Plastic body and no volume knob so it comes with limited features but it is a very budget-friendly USB mic for the webinars it will not disappoint you.

It has only a few features in the Solocast microphone, in this budget-friendly tag all are perfect value for the price. one nice feature is a tap-to-mute button, which is also in other models but it has an interesting one, by muting the red light will be blinking.

overall sound quality is great and due to the cardioid pattern, it’s ideal for the webinars only for a single person use not recommended for 2 or more persons. the plastic body could be a con for anyone looking for a metal body microphone.

Buyers Guide for webinars Microphone

Pickup patterns

One of the most important considerations when choosing a microphone for webinars is its pickup pattern. This refers to the directionality of the microphone, or how well it can pick up sound from different directions.

Mainly Cardioid pattern is required for the webinar microphone. omni-directional for multi-person use.

Single Person

For the Webinar microphones, you have to decide how many persons will use the microphone for the webinar.

If you’ll be the only person speaking during the webinar, a unidirectional microphone is a good choice. This type of microphone only picks up sound from one direction, so it’s ideal for situations where you want to minimize background noise.

Multiple People

In case you’re expecting to have two or multiple people speaking during the webinar, or if you want to be able to move around while you’re talking, an omnidirectional microphone is a better option. This type of microphone picks up sound from all directions, making it more versatile and easier to use.

Connection Of Microphone

Another important consideration is the type of connection the microphone uses. Most webcams come with a built-in microphone, but these are generally low-quality and not well-suited for webinars. For the best sound quality, you’ll want to use a separate microphone that connects to your computer via USB.

When it comes to choosing a USB microphone, there are two main types: condenser and dynamic. Condenser microphones are more sensitive and produce higher-quality sound, but they’re also more expensive.

Dynamic microphones are less expensive and still provide good sound quality, making them a good option for budget-conscious shoppers.

Conclusion

Finally, To get the best microphone for webinars, you’ll need to decide on a microphone that’s compatible with your computer, PC/Mac or laptop. Most webcams use a USB connection, so any USB microphone will work.

However, if you’re using a different type of connection, such as an XLR connection, you’ll need to make sure that the microphone you choose is compatible with your computer’s input.

This microphone is perfect for podcasting, voice-over work, and even recording music. The AT2050 has a wide frequency response and a low noise floor, making it ideal for capturing high-quality audio. This microphone also comes with a shock mount and pop filter, making it easy to set up and use.

Features and Specifications

Design is similar to the few other Audio Technica mics, AT2020, and AT2030 are also the same in design with just a minor difference in size or style. It has an all-metal body with a large diaphragm and a strong metal mesh grill.

Design

At the front of At2050, you will see the 3 polar pattern switches and the backside has a switch for 2 ways – one for an 80hz high pass filter and the second switch is for a -10dB pad.

High pass filter helps you in removing shocks and plosives and another switch -10 decibel helps you in recording loud sources.

Polar Patterns

One thing I want to mention here, it is not only a single omnidirectional polar pattern microphone, but it has 3 different polar patterns, Cardioid, Omnidirectional, and Figure-8. All 3 polar patterns are switchable patterns.

Power

It requires phantom power, and it is an XLR mic, I use it with a Quality XLR to XLR cable, which connects to my Accessories Phantom I power supply, and whenever I want to use it with my computer I connect it through an XLR to the USB connector.

Other Features

The frequency response rate is about 20hz to 20khz, along with the maximum input sound level of 149 dB SPL and signal to noise ratio is about 77dB.

Comes With

At2050 comes along with the anti-vibration shock mount which helps you for quality sound results, and a zip pouch which I think is not good, I was expecting a hard case wooden or plastic case, as the microphone itself is a quality and metal body so the pouch is not suitable for this, this will only save your microphone from dust only.

Also, it does not come with the XLR cable you have to buy a new one or use your previous microphone XLR cable, as I personally do with the microphone that comes without an XLR cable. and please note this point that Quality XLR cables are the one major factor for the quality sound results.

Specifications

  • Type: Condenser Microphone
  • Polar Patterns: 3 Different Switchable – Omni, Cardioid, Figure-8
  • Frequency range: 20hz-20khz
  • Output Connector: 3-pin XLRM-type
  • Maximum SPL: 149 dB SPL
  • Switches: Pattern selection and roll-off, and -10db
  • Open Circuit Sensitivity: -42 dB

Now coming to the Interesting part, At2050 Pros and cons and the conclusion of the At2050 Microphone Review

✅ Perfect value for the Price⛔ Comes without XLR Cable
✅ 3 switchable Polar Patterns⛔ Pouch is not a Good for Safty
✅ Great Omnidirectional Microphone⛔
✅ Ideal for Group Recordings, Singing, podcasts etc.
✅ Versatile Microphone

Conclusion📌

so talking about the conclusion now, I always try to recommend you or suggest to you the same thing which I do while buying the microphones, number one is the Company/Brand of the Microphone, and the second important factor I consider is the Reviews of previous buyers. 99% I become successful in getting a quality microphone.

At2050 is not a one-polar pattern mic with Omni only, but it has 2 more polar patterns, Cardioid and Figure-8 polar patterns so it is a versatile microphone that helps you to use it for multi-purposes. only the con or drawback I found in this microphone is the XLR cable is not included and a simple pouch as pa packing. other than that it is the Omnidirectional microphone that comes along with the shock mount adapter.

On the backside of the body, it has 2 switches one for the 0-10dB pad which helps you to decrease the signal of the mic cause if your microphone sound is louder and another switch is for the Roll base-off to decrease the frequency caught by the mic.

how to reduce keyboard noise on mic

Hey Guys, Most podcasters, Voice Over artists, and Microphone users ask this question, how to reduce keyboard noise on mic?

If you work in an office or shared space, chances are you’ve been the victim of keyboard noise at some point. Maybe someone was typing away furiously on their laptop while you were on a conference call, or perhaps you were trying to concentrate on your work and the person next to you was hammering away on their keyboard. Either way, it’s annoying.

There are a few things you can do to reduce keyboard noise on your mic.

Noise-canceling microphone

A noise-canceling microphone is a type of microphone that is designed to reduce background noise. Noise-canceling microphones are commonly used in call centers, offices, and other environments where there is a lot of background noise.

Noise-canceling microphones work by using a process called active noise control (ANC). ANC works by using a microphone to listen to background noise. When the microphone detects background noise, it creates a sound wave that cancels out the noise. This process helps to reduce the amount of background noise that is heard on a call or in an office.

Noise-canceling microphones can be used with both landline and VoIP phones. They can also be used with computers for video conferencing and other applications. Noise-canceling microphones are an important tool for reducing background noise and making it easier to hear on a call or in an office.

Cardioid Microphone

Cardioid pattern for noise cancellation is a sound-attenuating technique that uses a phased array of microphones to cancel out background noise.

The cardioid array is made up of two or more microphones that are placed in different locations relative to the person speaking.

The microphones are connected to a processor that delays the signal from each microphone so that the waves produced by the microphones arrive at the ear of the listener at different times. This creates a canceling effect that reduces the overall level of background noise.

The cardioid array can be used to reduce the level of background noise in a variety of settings, including offices, classrooms, and public spaces.

The technique is most effective when the noise sources are located in different parts of the room, as this allows the microphones to pick up the noise from different directions.

A cardioid pattern for noise cancellation is an effective way to reduce the level of background noise in a given space and can be used in a variety of settings to improve the overall acoustics. This will help you to get a solution to this question: how to reduce keyboard noise on mic?

Use A Pop Filter or Windscreen

Another answer or solution: how to reduce keyboard noise on mic? is to Use of Pop Filter, If you want to avoid picking up unwanted noise when recording, using a pop filter or windscreen can help.

Pop filters are designed to reduce plosives (hard consonants like “p” and “b”), while windscreens help to cut down on wind noise. Both can be effective at reducing background noise and making your recordings sound cleaner.

So, if you’re looking to cut down on noise in your recordings, using a pop filter or windscreen can be a helpful solution.

Just be sure to position them properly so that they don’t end up blocking your microphone’s sound hole and affecting your audio quality.

Use A Software Program

If you are using a microphone for any reason, whether it’s for gaming, podcasting, or even just communicating on Skype, you’ll want to make sure that your audio is as clear as possible.

One way to ensure this is to use a software program specifically designed for noise cancellation.

There are a few different ways to go about this. One option is to use a dedicated noise-canceling program that you can run in the background while you’re using your microphone.

This will continuously monitor the audio coming through your mic and attempt to cancel out any background noise.

Another option is to use a Noise Gate plugin for your recording software.

This will allow you to set a threshold for the audio coming through your mic, and anything below that threshold will be automatically filtered out. This can be a great way to eliminate any unwanted noise without having to worry about it affecting your actual recording.

Whichever method you choose, make sure that you test it out before using it in a live situation. This way you can be sure that it’s actually working the way you want it to.

Physically Reduce the Noise

Finally, you can try to physically reduce the noise by using a keyboard cover or placing your keyboard on a sound-absorbing material.

No matter what method you use, reducing keyboard noise on your mic can help to make your work environment more pleasant for everyone involved.

physically reduce the noise by using a keyboard cover or placing your keyboard on a sound-absorbing material. Keyboard covers are available for purchase online and in some stores. If you make your own keyboard cover, use a material that will not slide around or fall off, such as a thin layer of high-density foam rubber or neoprene.

You can also create a sound-dampening pad by placing several layers of felt or other absorbent material beneath your keyboard. Whatever material you use, make sure it does not block the keys or impede your typing.

If you want to further reduce the noise your keyboard makes, consider placing it on a sound-absorbing material. There are a variety of options available for purchase online and in stores, such as mousepads made of memory foam or gel-filled wrist rests.

You can also repurpose old blankets, towels, or rags by cutting them to size and using them as keyboard mats. Experiment with different materials until you find one that significantly reduces the noise of your typing without making it difficult to type.

We hope this guide has helped you narrow down your choices so that you can find the perfect microphone for your needs.

Price Factor

When it comes to finding the best beginner microphone, price is often one of the biggest factors. There are microphones available at a wide range of price points, and it can be difficult to know where to start. However, it is important to remember that not all expensive microphones are necessarily better than their cheaper counterparts.

In fact, many beginner microphones are very affordable and offer excellent quality. It is important to do your research and read reviews before making a purchase, but don’t let price be the sole deciding factor. With a little bit of effort, you can find the perfect beginner microphone for your needs without breaking the bank.

Beginner microphones can range in price from very affordable to quite expensive. It’s important to find a balance between quality and price when choosing a beginner microphone.

Features:

As we mentioned before, if you plan on using your microphone for more advanced applications, you’ll want to make sure it has the features you need. Some things to look for include a low-cut filter (to reduce background noise), a pop filter (to reduce plosives), and a shock mount (to reduce handling noise).
